HOME FOR CHRISTMAS SYNOPSIS
Along with her lifelong friend Miles Walker, Kayla Brennan plans their ten-year high school reunion weekend while juggling her jobs as a restaurant manager and author. With the reunion planned to coincide with their hometown's annual "Snowcoming" festival, Miles and Kayla look forward to the events with both excitement and anxiety as they prepare to encounter friends from their past.
As the reunion weekend approaches and former classmates begin to arrive home to the town of Kenilworth, Kayla's mother Rose, with whom Kayla runs the restaurant Rose's Place, hopes the event will provide her daughter with the opportunity to reconnect with her ex-boyfriend Tony Mauro. Former hockey hero Tony arrives in Kenilworth with his fiancée, renowned fashion model Rita Knox. While other classmates become enthralled with the details of the couple's upcoming wedding, Kayla struggles with her buried feelings for Tony, whom she broke up with immediately after their high school graduation. Even a decade later, Tony himself has questions about the reason for their break-up and hopes to find answers when he speaks privately with Kayla. Meanwhile, Gabe Hernandez, who runs his family's highly successful winery, arrives for the weekend hoping to reconnect with Miles, who still harbors hard feelings toward him after a terrible series of events that occurred during their senior year of high school. When Rita gets called away from the reunion by her agent for a holiday photoshoot with a prestigious publication, Tony hopes to have a heart-to heart conversation with Kayla. After being inducted into his high school's Sports Hall of Fame on the ice at the Snowcoming hockey game, Tony asks Kayla if they can talk; however, the conversation does not go as planned. While he confesses to Kayla that he still has feelings for her, Kayla deflects and states that the past is best left in the past. Similarly, Gabe fails in his attempts to engage Miles in a conversation about what happened between them all those years ago. As a result, Gabe asks Tony to help with him a plan to impress Miles and demonstrate that he has truly matured in the years since high school. At the reunion dinner dance, Rose arranges for Kayla and Tony to share a dance. As they gaze into each other's eyes and nearly kiss, Rita surprises them by returning from her photoshoot early. Kayla flees the dance floor, leaving Tony to deal with the fallout. Later that evening, as Rita confronts Tony about his true feelings for Kayla, an electrical fire erupts at Rose's Place, damaging the building and throwing Rose's and Kayla's lives into chaos. Facing the truth that Tony is still in love with Kayla, Rita breaks off their engagement and leaves Kenilworth while friends rally around Rose and Kayla offering their support in the aftermath of the fire. Together, Tony and Gabe put a plan in place to turn the final night of the reunion weekend into a fundraiser for the restaurant. Kayla learns that Tony's engagement has been called off and finally admits that she still has feelings for him. Wearing her high school Prom dress, Kayla attends the dance with Tony. When Miles takes the stage to sing a new Christmas song he has written in honor of his class, Gabe arrives to the dance wearing Miles's high school hockey jersey, which Miles had given him ten years before. Overcome with emotion, Miles hops down from the stage and embraces Gabe. Rose expresses her appreciation for everything the classmates have done for her and celebrates her daughter's newfound happiness. Tony and Kayla dance alongside Miles and Gabe as both couples contemplate their futures together, happy they are all home for Christmas. |
