FAMILY CELLARS SYNOPSIS
In the middle of the night, a mysterious figure sets file to the Wallace family winery, setting off a chaotic series of threats and accusations among members of the Wallace family.
Garrett Wallace, patriarch of the family, joins fire fighters and investigators at the scene of the fire. Taking advantage of the chaos the fire causes, Garrett's wife Eden sneaks off to the bedroom of her stepson Colton, with whom she is having an affair. Eden reiterates to Colton that Garrett must continue to believe the baby she's carrying is his, even though Colton wants everyone to know the baby is, in fact, his own. Eden warns that if the truth ever comes out, their plan to take the family empire from Garrett will be ruined. Garrett's other two children, David and Julie, join their father at the fire scene only to witness Garrett firing Tony, his household security director, with whom Julie is in love. When Julie objects to Garrett's actions, he warns her never to question him or she may suffer disinheritance as her brother Colton did. The next day as the investigation into the fire begins, Jared Clark, Eden's brother, talks about the fire with customers in his Old World Olive Oil store, which he inherited from his parents. Although people are concerned about the future of the winery, everyone is grateful that no one was injured in the fire. At his office, Colton and his business partner Dexter Baldwin discuss the Star Pointe property development, the cornerstone of the new business they have just started together after Garrett banished Colton from Wallace Enterprises. Dexter has scheduled a meeting with Bruce Lawson, whose property they intend to purchase because it stands at the center of what will eventually become Star Pointe. During their conversation, Dexter once again expresses his romantic interest in Colton's brother David. Colton encourages Dexter to ask David to dinner, but Dexter hesitates. In bed together, Julie and Tony discuss their future, now that Garrett has fired him. Julie intends to confront her father once again, but Tony discourages that tactic; instead, he will find another job so Garrett will no longer hold any authority over him. Eden begins to suspect that something is going on between Julie and Tony and ponders how she can exploit that knowledge to her own benefit. Since Julie has never supported Eden's marriage to Garrett, Eden creates an opportunity to win Julie over. She invites Garrett to lunch and encourages her husband to rehire Tony for Julie's sake. When Garrett finally agrees to his wife's request, Eden rushes off to tell Julie and, hopefully, repair their broken friendship. In an attempt to bring the entire Wallace family together after the tragedy of the fire, Eden plans a family dinner and invites her brother Jared to attend. After he once again expresses his concerns for his sister's true motives for marrying Garrett, Jared agrees to attend the dinner party. In Italy, Ava Romano, widow of the original owner of the winery, hears the news of the fire. She wonders if her mentally-unstable daughter Rose, who is infatuated with David, had anything to do with it. When Rose finally returns from an unplanned trip, Ava confronts her daughter and asks where she was. Rose admits that she traveled to California, where the winery is located. Ava asks what her daughter did while she was away, to which Rose bluntly replies, "I set a fire." As the Wallace family gathers for Eden's family dinner party, a mysterious package is delivered to David. At the same time, a visibly-angry Colton arrives to the dinner with Dexter. They reveal that Garrett went behind their backs and purchased the land they need from Bruce Lawson. When Garrett admits to making the purchase, Colton declares, "I'm going to kill you!" and attacks his father. During that assault, the surprise arrival of Megan Wallace, Garrett's first wife and mother of his three sons, shocks everyone. |
